Kentucky State Fair 2016

Every year Nana and Opa take us to the Kentucky State Fair. It’s loud, garish, crowded, smelly, and an assault on the senses that is in stark contrast to our peaceful, quiet, and isolated farm. But, we enjoy it so much! In fact, that may be one of the reasons why it’s such a blast.

The food is one of the highlights of the fair! Roasted ears of corn, funnel cakes, FUDGE!, fried fish, meat on a stick, samples of sorghum and honey sticks, we love to eat our way through the fair. IMG_7010

We are very familiar with the smells in the livestock area of the fair. This year, we even found some animals bearing the girls’ names. Even though we see and care of our animals everday, it’s still fun to see all the different breeds en masse.
